Anti-Terrorism Unit of Russian Military Base in Armenia Conducts Training

On June 9, the military personnel of the anti-terrorism unit of the Southern Military District (SMD) military base in Armenia took part in a planned training session on the territory of the garrison of the 102nd Russian base in Gyumri.
The service members, supported by the fire of an armored personnel carrier, repelled an attack by a mock enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group (SRG) on the checkpoint and the adjacent territory. After the liquidation of the SRG, the vehicles and the territory near the checkpoint were checked for the presence of explosive devices with the participation of cynological crews.
The training took place in conditions as close as possible to combat. Various means of imitation created a combat situation, including blank ammunition, explosive packs, and light and noise grenades.
