
Armenia and US Discuss Bilateral Agenda and Strategic Partnership in Yerevan

On September 19, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Joshua Huck, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State.
During the meeting, the two discussed the bilateral agenda and regional issues. Both sides emphasized the significance of joint efforts to advance their strategic partnership and outlined the next steps to achieve this milestone. Along with deepening the political dialogue, they explored prospects for enhancing sectoral cooperation, particularly in promoting bilateral trade.
Mirzoyan noted, “The relations between our countries have recently been evolving with intensive dynamics, enriched by new dimensions, building on strategic dialogue. We are keen to further enhance our active engagement in various domains.”
In discussing regional matters, Mirzoyan and Huck addressed the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process. The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of avoiding artificial obstacles in the path to signing the peace treaty, which was drafted after two years of negotiations. He emphasized the need to sign the agreement with the already agreed-upon text, aiming to ensure lasting peace in the South Caucasus. Mirzoyan also reaffirmed Armenia's interest in unblocking regional communications based on well-known principles.
