Armenia, Iran, and India Review Trilateral Cooperation and Regional Projects in Tehran

On September 8, the third trilateral meeting of the Republic of Armenia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Republic of India at the level of regional directors general of the foreign ministries was held in Tehran. The Iranian delegation was headed by H. E. Mr. Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Director General for South Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran; the Indian delegation was led by H. E. Mr. Anand Prakash, Joint Secretary (PAI) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India; and the Armenian delegation was chaired by H. E. Ms. Anahit Karapetyan, Head of the Asia-Pacific Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

During the meeting, the three parties expressed satisfaction with the regular annual holding of the trilateral format and reviewed progress achieved based on decisions from the first meeting in Yerevan in April 2023 and the second meeting in New Delhi in December 2024. They emphasized that the objectives of these meetings had been largely fulfilled, promoting mutual interests and regional prosperity. The participants highlighted the importance of expanding and deepening cooperation, particularly in connectivity, the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), and Armenia’s "Crossroads of Peace" project, leveraging the strategic position of the Chabahar port. They also reviewed initiatives to further develop relations in economic, trade, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as other areas of mutual interest. By mutual agreement, it was decided that the next trilateral meeting will take place in Armenia next year on a date convenient to all three parties.
