Armenia to Participate in October BRICS Summit in Kazan

On September 4, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan stated that the Armenian delegation would participate in the BRICS summit, set to be held in Kazan in October. He did not specify the format of Yerevan's participation in the event.
During the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) in Vladivostok on the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova highlighted the growing interest in BRICS membership, saying, "There are a huge number of applications, there are already several dozens of them... New members have already been accepted, there has been a large-scale expansion, and we need the experience of BRICS interaction in such an expanded composition."
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed on September 4 that Turkey had submitted an application to join the BRICS association. "Turkey has applied for full membership. We will consider it," he stated.
