Armenian Speaker Advocates for New Gas Pipeline Options from Azerbaijan and Iran

On April 25, during a conversation with journalists, Alen Simonyan, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, endorsed the idea of constructing a gas pipeline from Azerbaijan and Iran and purchasing gas from these countries. He highlighted this as a promising option.
When asked about the possibility of Armenia buying gas directly from Azerbaijan, Simonyan responded positively, stating, "I have a very positive attitude towards it. We should discuss this issue."
He also clarified a common misconception by mentioning, "In general, it is not true that part of the gas we are using now is not Azerbaijani gas." However, Simonyan noted that there are currently no ongoing discussions on the matter.
