On April 8, Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received Yermek Kosherbayev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Nurlan Sauranbayev, the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, during their visit to Baku. The President highlighted that relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are developing in a spirit of cooperation and brotherhood, emphasizing that reciprocal visits by the heads of state, along with decisions adopted and high-level exchanges, are bringing the two nations closer and strengthening their cooperation potential. He also expressed hope that the opportunities provided by the joint investment fund would be fully utilized, noting that several projects are already under development and pointing to prospects for joint investments in third countries. Aliyev expressed confidence that the ministers’ visit would be successful.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Kosherbayev stated that it was an honor to meet with the head of state and conveyed the greetings of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan. Aliyev thanked him and asked that his greetings be passed on in return. Kosherbayev emphasized that the Azerbaijani President enjoys high esteem in Kazakhstan. During the meeting, the sides welcomed the steady development of bilateral relations across political, economic, transport, logistics, investment, energy, and green energy sectors, noting broad opportunities for further expansion. They also discussed key regional initiatives, including the Middle Corridor, the Trans-Caspian Green Energy Corridor, and fiber-optic infrastructure projects, underlining the effective cooperation between the two countries in these areas. The importance of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the TRIPP project passing through Armenian territory, was highlighted in the context of regional connectivity. The sides also praised cooperation within international organizations and exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.

On the same day, Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, held an extended meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Yermek Kosherbayev at the Foreign Ministry in Baku. The ministers reaffirmed strong strategic ties and noted expanding cooperation across economy, trade, energy, industry, agriculture, transport, logistics, and digital sectors. They emphasized the role of the Middle Corridor in enhancing Europe-Asia trade and highlighted the contribution of joint projects to transit infrastructure and regional connectivity. The ministers also expressed concern over tensions in the Middle East and voiced hope that the ceasefire reached between the parties would contribute to stability and peace. Regional and global security challenges were also discussed, while Bayramov briefed his counterpart on the ongoing normalization and peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Kosherbayev emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are characterized by "consistent and sustainable development" and possess significant potential. "We reaffirm our commitment to further strengthening our alliance with brotherly Azerbaijan and to enriching our cooperation with new substance," he stated, adding that the high level of cooperation has been achieved through dialogue based on mutual trust.

During their discussions, the ministers reviewed the implementation of major infrastructure projects, including the Middle Corridor and the laying of a fiber-optic cable across the Caspian Sea connecting Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. They focused on key areas such as political, trade and economic, energy, transit-transport, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, as well as facilitating the transit of Kazakh energy resources to global markets via Azerbaijan. Particular attention was also paid to cooperation in agriculture, industry, and telecommunications, alongside the growing role of the joint investment fund. The ministers assessed the progress of agreements reached at the highest level. "Thanks to the political will of the heads of state, over the past three years, Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan relations have reached a qualitatively new level of cooperation," Kosherbayev emphasized.
