
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan Strengthen Oil and Gas Cooperation

On March 4, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with the heads of major energy companies from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan to discuss multilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
During the meeting, President Aliyev highlighted the strong production ties already established between the oil companies of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation in joint production and fulfilling partner countries' energy demands.
On March 5, a conference titled "Digitalization, Industrial Safety, and Procurement in the Energy Sector" was held in Baku. At the event, KazMunayGas (KMG), SOCAR, Tatneft, and Uzbekneftegaz signed memorandums of cooperation on digital technologies and industrial safety. These agreements include plans to exchange expertise on digital solutions and address industrial safety challenges.
The discussions also covered crisis management, emergency response, and the introduction of digital systems for process monitoring and predictive analysis. Representatives emphasized the importance of minimizing environmental risks and implementing innovative solutions.
Additionally, the participants discussed the implementation of a strategic decarbonization agreement signed at COP29 in Azerbaijan, which aims to introduce low-carbon technologies to reduce emissions in the oil and gas industry.
