
Azerbaijan on the start of construction of road from Barda to Agdam

The Barda-Agdam highway will pass through 20 settlements of Nagorno-Karabakh that have come under the control of Azerbaijan.
On November 25, 2020, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced the start of restoration work on the Barda-Agdam railway. To restore the Agdam region and increase convenience for people who will live there in the future, this road is necessary, he stressed.
The State Agency for Roads of Azerbaijan has begun construction of a road from Barda to Agdam, the length of which will be about 45 kilometres. It will be four-lane and built in accordance with the first technical category.
The route will connect 20 settlements of the two districts, including Barda and Agdam. The first 14 kilometres will pass through Barda. At the current stage, earthworks are being carried out on the site from the sixth to the 45th kilometre, 79 drainage systems, and five underground crossings are being built along the entire road. The construction of two road bridges is nearing completion - at the 25th and 40th kilometres and one overpass. U-turns will be created in eight places, and bus stops will be built in 24 places, the State Agency for Roads of Azerbaijan stated.
Earlier, the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads has shared information on current road infrastructure projects in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions.
"The construction of the "Victory Road" with a length of 101.5 kilometres has been fully completed," the agency noted.
