Azerbaijani FM Highlights Limitations of Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Treaty
On December 24, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia does not mean a 100 percent solution to everything.
According to Bayramov, Baku is the author of all important initiatives related to the peace agreement. "The process does not depend on the desire of one side. Both sides must take appropriate steps here. After fully restoring Azerbaijan's sovereignty, we closely follow the messages of Armenia's political leadership. We are also hearing some positive comments," the minister noted.
Bayramov recalled that Baku received another package of proposals on the peace treaty from Yerevan in late November this year. "The package of proposals we developed within a month was submitted to Armenia. The process is ongoing. I think the meetings will take place in 2024. We look at this issue realistically and optimistically. At the same time, when we talk about a peace agreement, we should understand that it does not mean a 100 percent solution to everything," he stressed.
On the same day, official Yerevan confirmed that it had received Baku's new proposals on the draft peace agreement.
