Bayramov and US Under Secretary Discuss Strategic Partnership, Armenia Peace Process, And Trump Route Connectivity in Baku
On November 19, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Allison Hooker, the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs.
Bayramov and Hooker discussed the state of bilateral relations, prospects for expanding cooperation, the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace process, and broader regional and global security matters. They emphasized the significance of the agreements reached on August 8 at the historic Washington meeting. Azerbaijan expressed interest in accelerating work on the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity," a project intended to secure unhindered connectivity between the mainland territory and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The sides also reviewed the work of the Joint Strategic Working Group tasked with preparing the Strategic Partnership Charter.
Allison Hooker stated that the United States and Azerbaijan had established a joint working group to implement the August 8 Washington agreements. She announced the establishment of a working group, led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter, to develop a Charter of Strategic Partnership between the United States and Azerbaijan. She noted that this initiative, combined with progress toward a full-fledged peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, would deepen bilateral relations and "unlock the potential of the South Caucasus as an important trade corridor"
