Bayramov Holds Talks with Ukraine and Iran, Discussing Bilateral Relations, Regional Security, And Ceasefire
On April 8, Andrii Sybiha, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, held a phone conversation with Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, to discuss the current state and future development of bilateral relations. "We discussed the current state and further development of bilateral relations, reaffirming our commitment to deepening cooperation between our countries. We also exchanged views on a broad range of issues on the global agenda, including security challenges, connectivity, and the development of transport routes and corridors," Sybiha stated.
On the same day, Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, also held a telephone conversation with Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, focusing on regional security developments and the recently reached ceasefire. Bayramov welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US, emphasizing its importance for reducing tensions, maintaining regional stability, and ensuring the successful continuation of negotiations. The sides also highlighted the role of mediating countries in achieving the agreement, particularly the contribution of Pakistan.
Bayramov stressed the importance of adhering to the ceasefire and underscored the need to resolve the situation through diplomatic means, expressing hope for productive upcoming talks in Islamabad. He added that Azerbaijan remains ready to support initiatives aimed at strengthening sustainable peace, security, and regional cooperation. The ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
