On April 10, Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Chinese Ambassador to Tbilisi Zhou Jian recently signed an agreement facilitating a visa-free regime for mutual visits between citizens of their respective countries.

Darchiashvili expressed optimism about the agreement, stating that it will simplify Georgian citizens' travel to China and foster stronger ties and cooperation between the two nations. The signing of the agreement is seen as a positive step towards enhancing the friendly relations between Georgia and China.

Ambassador Zhou Jian highlighted the benefits of the visa-free regime, particularly for businessmen from both countries. He emphasized that this agreement will enable easier travel for Georgian and Chinese entrepreneurs, allowing them to discuss cooperation opportunities and attract investments more effectively.

Upon completion of internal legal procedures in both countries, citizens of Georgia and China will be able to visit each other's countries for up to 30 days without a visa.

In response to the agreement, China Southern Airlines announced plans to increase the number of flights to Georgia.
