
Georgia's Foreign Trade Increases by 35.3% from January to September

According to preliminary figures provided by the National Statistics Office (Geostat) on October 19, Georgia's international trade turnover of products reached EUR 13.9 billion between January and September 2022, a rise of 35.3% over the same period in the previous year.
The growth of exports was 37.4% to EUR 4.2 billion, while the growth of imports was 34.4% to EUR 9.7 billion. Between January and September, a EUR 5.5 billion trade imbalance occurred, or 39.8% of total commerce.
With EUR 589 million in exports, China was Georgia's top commercial partner, followed by Azerbaijan (EUR 500.7), Russia (EUR 485.6), Armenia (EUR 375.6 million), and Turkey (EUR 362.4 million). Regarding imports, Georgia's major trading partners were Turkey, Russia, China, the United States, and Azerbaijan, with respective values of EUR 1.7 billion, EUR 1.2 billion, EUR 580 million, EUR 668 million, and EUR 483 million. With EUR 772 million, copper ores and concentrates topped the list of exportable goods from January through September 2022. Cars came in second with a value of EUR 605 million, followed by ferroalloys with a value of EUR 442 million, nitrogenous fertilizers with a value of EUR 212 million, wine with a value of EUR 177 million, spirits with a value of EUR 108 million, electricity with a value of EUR 86 million, natural or artificial mineral waters with a value of EUR 81 million, medications with a value of EUR 78 million, and other.
