Kobakhidze Says Georgia Ready to Fulfill Reasonable EU Demands

| News, Politics, Georgia

On September 1, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia, stated that the Georgian authorities were ready to fulfill any reasonable demands of the European Union. "We are ready to fulfill absolutely all reasonable demands. They must justify to us that the demands are reasonable, and we will, of course, fulfill them," Kobakhidze emphasized.

He noted that certain justified requirements from the EU had already been met "from beginning to end," but stressed that there were also "unreasonable demands" for which no explanation had been provided. The Prime Minister pointed out that among the EU’s requests were the repeal of Georgian laws on the protection of traditional values and on the transparency of foreign influence.
