On December 25, Mikheil Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia, wrote on Facebook, "I would like to tell the Georgian electorate never to forget who stood in what position on moral issues in critical moments. Saakashvili noted, "No one in the world or Ukraine doubts that I am Putin's prisoner on trumped-up charges. Georgians know this very well. Therefore, one of the simplest tests for the unmistakable identification of Russian agencies and their handlers is who asks to leave me in prison under the most difficult conditions possible."

"At the same time, the Russians want to suppress my voice not so much in the direction of Georgia but in the direction of Ukraine. They know very well how effectively I could help Ukraine today," he emphasized.
