On September 19, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Georgia for an official visit.
According to the Georgian government's press service, an official welcoming ceremony for the distinguished guest took place at Tbilisi International Airport. The UAE President was greeted by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and the national anthems of both countries were played.
From the airport, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Irakli Kobakhidze proceeded to the government administration building for an extended meeting attended by cabinet ministers from both countries.
Kobakhidze declared the UAE President's visit a "great honor" and a "particularly important day". "We are extremely interested in further deepening the cooperation and partnership between our two countries in all areas," he noted.
Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of cooperation in the areas of trade, business, economics, industry, and energy.
The UAE president addressed the Georgian PM as follows: "Dear friend, Mr. Prime Minister, I am very pleased with my visit to Georgia. Meeting with you again after our meeting in Abu Dhabi confirms the continuation of our cooperation. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your birthday. I wish you success, a happy life, and good health. There is a close connection between Georgia and the Emirates, which will be further confirmed by deepening our cooperation and implementing many more projects, especially in the fields of trade, business, the economy, industry, and energy, and in other sectors that are priorities for both countries. I would like to note the increase in trade relations between our countries, which amounts to millions of dollars. This cooperation is large-scale, and there is no doubt that economic cooperation between our two countries will continue, especially in the transport sector. The Emirates will contribute to developing partnerships under agreements implemented by various investment companies. This strengthens the relationship between Georgia and the Emirates. Our two countries share a common vision for stability, peace, and people-to-people relations. Both countries are also deepening cooperation in the cultural sphere, sharing a rich heritage that is the basis for the development of our nations. I would like to confirm that the Emirates will strengthen its partnership with the countries of the Caucasus region in general and promote stability, peace, and common interests. Peace is the main axis for economic development and strengthening. I thank you once again and wish Georgia and the Georgian people stability, development, and success".
