Protest in Tbilisi in Support of Saakashvili

On November 20, supporters and family members of Mikheil Saakashvili, the imprisoned former president of Georgia, protested in front of the government building and demanded his release and transfer overseas for medical treatment.
According to Saakashvili's mother Giuli Alasania, the purpose of the gathering was to save a person's life. "Despite my gratitude for the Vivamedi medical staff, his condition has not improved. He is in serious condition," she added.
The protestors threatened to launch continued demonstrations if the administration does not decide on the move within a week.
Lelo, Strategy Aghmashenebeli, Girchi-More Freedom, and three opposition party members from the United National Movement (UNM) were also present at the gathering.
According to UNM Chair Nika Melia, many professional evaluations indicate that he could not be treated in Georgia, and his relocation overseas is the only alternative.
