Russia Responds to Armenia's Border Incident Accusations
On February 28, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova expressed strong discontent with the statements made by the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, regarding the incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on February 12.
Zakharova stated that Grigoryan's accusations against Russia are distortions of facts aimed at pleasing Western audiences or creating pretexts for criticism of Russia. Zakharova clarified that there are no Russian military personnel stationed at the Nerkin-Ands residential settlement and that the presence of an FSB border service post there since 2021 is in accordance with an agreement with the Armenian side.
She emphasized that such attempts to denigrate Russian representatives are counterproductive, indicating the need for responsible and accurate discourse in international relations.
