Trade Turnover Between Georgia and Azerbaijan Increases
According to data from Georgia's National Statistics Office, commerce between Georgia and Azerbaijan totaled $1.1 billion from January through November 2022, an increase of 16.8% over the $999.5 million in trade during the same period in 2021.
The organization estimated that Azerbaijan will be Georgia's fourth-largest trading partner from January through November 2022. Turkey was Georgia's top trading partner during the reporting period ($2.5 billion in trade turnover), followed by Russia ($2.2 billion) and China ($1.6 billion). According to the report, Georgia bought items worth $572.9 million from Azerbaijan at that time, a 12.1 percent increase over the $511.2 million imported during the same period in 2021.
At the same time, Georgian exports to Azerbaijan rose by 21.9 percent from January through November 2022 ($488.2 million) to $595.4 million.
