Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the US Department of State, reiterated the US’s commitment to facilitating discussions between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, highlighting the country’s readiness to contribute to the normalization of relations between the two nations. 

During a press briefing, Miller emphasized the importance of a durable and respectful peace agreement and noted both countries' significant progress towards finalizing such an accord.

“We continue to support the efforts of both countries to reach a durable and dignified peace agreement,” Miller outlined.

While expressing the US’s willingness to support further, including organizing meetings if necessary, Miller declined to comment on whether Secretary of State Antony Blinken plans to arrange another meeting in New York.

Earlier, Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, emphasizing the significance of achieving a lasting and dignified peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. According to the State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, Blinken also commended the recent progress made by both sides, particularly highlighting the agreement on border delimitation as a positive step in the ongoing peace process.
