Vahagn Vardanyan Visits Georgia On Defense Mission

On April 4, Vahagn Vardanyan, the Press Secretary of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, held meetings during his working visit to Georgia with the leadership of the Strategic Communications and Public Relations Department of the Georgian Ministry of Defense, as well as with representatives of the National Defense Academy of Georgia.

During the meetings, issues concerning bilateral cooperation in the defense sector were discussed.

Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan Strongly Condemns Iranian Missile Launch Toward Türkiye

On March 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan "strongly condemned the launch of a ballistic missile from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran toward the territory of the Republic of Türkiye," the ministry stated, adding, "We express our solidarity with brotherly Türkiye and reaffirm our unwavering support for its security and territorial integrity."

Zakir Hasanov Attends CIS Defense Ministers’ Meeting in Moscow

On April 3, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who was on an official visit to the Russian Federation, participated in the meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states, held in Moscow on April 2.

At the beginning of the event, the defense ministers of the CIS member states laid wreaths and flowers at the Victory Monument in Moscow, accompanied by an honor guard and a military band, followed by a group photo of the heads of delegations.

During the restricted-format meeting, various aspects of regional security, military cooperation among the participating countries, and other relevant issues were discussed.

As part of his visit, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov also held a bilateral meeting with Andrei Belousov, his Russian counterpart. The discussion focused on the current state and future prospects of military and military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.

Azerbaijan And Türkiye Hold Flag Change Ceremony For Joint Exercise

On April 3, in line with the military cooperation agreement between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, a national flag change ceremony was held in preparation for the joint "Heydar Aliyev–2026" exercise, scheduled to take place in Kars, Türkiye.

The flag platoon, departing from the headquarters of the Combined Arms Army, began its march from the city of Nakhchivan toward the Sadarak border crossing and the Umid Bridge over the Araz River. At the same time, Türkiye’s platoon marched from the city of Kars toward the designated ceremony venue.

Following the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Independence March of the Republic of Türkiye, the flag change ceremony took place at the Umid Bridge. During an event marking the dispatch of personnel and military equipment to the training site, Lieutenant General Kanan Seyidov, the Commander of the Combined Arms Army, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of the joint exercise and wished participants success.

After the event, the units assigned to the exercise departed from Nakhchivan. The exercise aims to plan and conduct joint operations following modern warfare principles, ensure effective interoperability, facilitate experience exchange in comprehensive combat support, and enhance the knowledge and skills of personnel. Combat operations under various conditions and the execution of special tasks are included in the exercise plan.

Georgia

Georgia Hosts Turkish Cyber Defense Officials For Strategic Meeting

On April 2, the Cyber Security Bureau of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia hosted representatives of the Cyber Defense Command of the Turkish Armed Forces.

Colonel Metin Durmaz, the Commander of the Turkish Cyber Defense Command, and Major Chagri Kayoglu, the Commander of the Cyber Support Battalion, met with Major General Irakli Chichinadze, the Deputy Commander of the Defense Forces, and Luka Mgeladze, the Director of the Cyber Security Bureau.

During the meeting, the Georgian side presented the mission and activities of the Cyber Security Bureau to the Turkish representatives. The discussion covered existing cooperation in cyber defense, future plans, and the importance of sharing experience and participating in joint exercises. Both sides emphasized the significance of cyberspace as an operational domain and agreed to further deepen collaboration.

As part of the visit, the Turkish Cyber Defense Command representatives, along with the Turkish Military Attaché in Georgia, visited the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC), where they were briefed on the center's capabilities and inspected its infrastructure.
