Armenia And Iran Discuss Expansion of Energy Cooperation
On July 25, Davit Khudatyan, Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, held a meeting with Mohsen Paknejad, Iran’s Oil Minister, during his visit to Iran.
Paknejad praised Armenia’s support for Iran during challenging periods and reaffirmed Tehran’s willingness to expand cooperation with its northwestern neighbor within the framework of its technical and economic capacities. He emphasized that the energy relations between the two countries are currently based on a gas-for-electricity exchange mechanism.
The Iranian minister also stated that Tehran has introduced a new trade model aimed at increasing natural gas exports to Armenia and further developing bilateral energy cooperation.
