Armenia and NATO reviewed the state and future direction of their cooperation during meetings in Yerevan between Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan and NATO official Kevin Hamilton.

According to the Armenian Security Council, Grigoryan highlighted “positive dynamics” in Armenia–NATO relations and congratulated Hamilton on his new role. Discussions focused on expanding practical cooperation, including Armenia’s continued participation in NATO-led peacekeeping missions.

Hamilton emphasized that Armenia’s contributions to such missions play an important role in strengthening operational cooperation and trust.

The sides also exchanged views on regional and global security developments, reflecting ongoing dialogue amid shifting geopolitical conditions.

Separately, President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Hamilton and reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to deepening cooperation with NATO and its member states. He said a “solid foundation” has already been established through sustained dialogue and joint initiatives.

Hamilton expressed readiness to further advance cooperation, particularly in areas such as institutional development, governance, and rule of law. Both sides underscored the importance of democratic values and best-practice sharing.

Khachaturyan added that Armenia’s engagement with individual NATO member states continues to expand across political, defense, and military sectors, contributing to the country’s reform agenda and broader security objectives.

Both sides reaffirmed their intention to maintain constructive dialogue and deepen cooperation in support of regional stability.
