Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan is leading a delegation to France, where he met with Éric Lombard, the French Minister of Economics, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, the government press office reports.

The discussions focused on expanding Armenian-French economic cooperation, particularly by introducing new trade and investment opportunities and strengthening business ties. Khachatryan emphasized the successful experience of working with French enterprises and underscored the importance of enhancing French corporate presence in Armenia to bring new expertise and develop business culture.

One key topic was the potential involvement of French funding and leading construction and engineering firms in the Bargushat tunnel project, part of Armenia’s North-South road corridor initiative.

Lombard reiterated France's commitment to deepening economic ties with Armenia and assured the French government would prioritize support for the discussed projects.

The officials agreed on the next steps and a future cooperation framework to advance bilateral economic initiatives.

During his visit, the Armenian Deputy PM also met with representatives of the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF) during his working visit to France.

Khachatryan outlined Armenia’s economic policy priorities, key achievements, and ongoing developments in various sectors. He highlighted the government’s efforts to continuously improve the country’s investment climate and emphasized the importance of deepening economic cooperation between Armenia and France. He stressed the priority of increasing French corporate involvement in Armenia, both in the private sector and major state projects. He assured that the government is committed to strengthening business ties and making the Armenian investment environment more accessible and transparent for French companies.
