On February 20, Alik Minasyan was re-elected as Chairman of the Armenian Community of separatist Abkhazia during a congress held in the village of Machara, Gulripsh district. Presenting his report, Minasyan highlighted the organization’s activities, stressing its role in “reinforcing Abkhazia’s statehood” and “safeguarding the cultural traditions of the Hamshen Armenians.”

He reaffirmed the community’s political stance, stating: "Our fundamental principle remains unchanged: the Armenian community supports Abkhazia's independence and fully supports the development of its state and civil institutions. Today, we continue to confidently follow this path." He also expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him over the past three years, describing this period as one that “tested the community’s resilience and cohesion.”

Badra Gunba, the de-facto President of the separatist Republic, attended the congress and emphasized that Abkhazia has long been characterized “by ethnic diversity, mutual respect, and tolerance.” "In my opinion, we have achieved a high level of tolerance and respect for each other. The opportunity to live together, create, and develop our country is a great blessing and an achievement, earned in part by our shared ancestors," Gunba stated. He further emphasized the Armenian community’s important role in “state-building”, noting that its representatives included scientists, educators, medical professionals, agricultural workers, and war veterans, all of whom “contributed to the country’s development.”
