Azerbaijani and Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioners Discuss Perspectives of Cooperation
On July 12, Sabina Aliyeva, Azerbaijan's Commissioner for Human Rights, met Dmytro Lubinets, with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner reported.
According to the information, during the meeting, cooperation relations between the ombudsperson institutions of the two countries, prospects of cooperation in the field of effective protection, and provision of human rights in the current situation were discussed.
Sabina Aliyeva asked her Ukrainian counterpart to pay attention to protecting the rights of Azerbaijani citizens Misir Gasimli and Subhan Guliyev, who are currently imprisoned in Ukraine.
It is said in the information that both ombudspersons emphasized the need for further cooperation in protecting human rights and freedoms.
The Press Office of the Ombudsperson reported that during the conference, the ombudsperson of Ukraine thanked the Republic of Azerbaijan for providing humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians and pointed out that the Ombudsperson of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, played an important role in this matter.
