Bayramov Meets Outgoing French Ambassador to Discuss Azerbaijan-France Relations and Regional Peace
On August 27, Jeyhun Bayramov, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, received Anne Boullion, the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan, on the completion of her diplomatic term. During the meeting, the sides discussed Azerbaijan-France relations as well as regional and international issues. Bayramov noted that Ambassador Boullion served in Azerbaijan during a historically significant period and wished her success in her future endeavors. He emphasized the importance of keeping dialogue channels open despite existing challenges in bilateral relations.
The minister also briefed the ambassador on Azerbaijan's steps toward advancing the regional peace agenda, highlighting the outcomes of the historic Washington meeting. He underlined Azerbaijan's consistent advocacy for peace, referencing the initialing of the "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia" and the joint appeal for the closure of the OSCE Minsk Group and related structures as key developments. Ambassador Boullion expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation extended to her during her term in Azerbaijan. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest. Bayramov reiterated the importance of maintaining open communication between the two countries despite challenges and tensions in bilateral relations.
