Poland will prioritize efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and stabilize the South Caucasus region during its Council of the European Union (EU) presidency in 2025.

"The Polish Presidency will strive to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and stabilize the situation in the South Caucasus region, enabling the development of its cooperation with the EU. It will also support the aspirations of the Georgian people for EU membership," reads the presidency program.

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) extended congratulations to its Polish counterpart as Poland assumes the presidency of the EU Council.

“Congratulations to our Poland MFA colleagues as they take over the EU Council presidency. We look forward to close cooperation both bilaterally and within the EU to further advance Armenia-EU’s ambitious agenda under POLAND25EU,” the Armenian MFA stated.

The message also expressed gratitude to Hungary for its contributions during its 2024 EU Council presidency, acknowledging Hungary’s role in achieving significant milestones in Armenia-EU relations.
