Sargsyan Responds to Legal Charges and Discusses 2019 Negotiation Documents

| News, Politics, Armenia

On November 11, former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan responded to questions about new legal charges, the publication of 2019 negotiation documents, and criticism of the current government, while requesting a few days before giving detailed answers.

Sargsyan stated this to journalists outside the courthouse, noting, "Just three or four days ago, I gave a very long interview. I answered many questions; please allow me at least another three or four days to monitor the responses, and then I will answer all your questions".

Speaking about the new charges brought against him, Sargsyan added, "This is a well-known fact; this is not a separate charge. I am confident that these cases will be added to one of the other cases".

Regarding Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's 2019 remarks about the absence of documents on the negotiating table and his recent assurance that they would be published, Sargsyan noted, "That's not important; what's important is that we managed to at least secure a promise to publish the negotiating documents; we'll see".

On accusations that former presidents and the Azerbaijani government are leveling similar criticisms against the current government, the former president concluded, "You shouldn't attribute your own incompetence to others".
