Shalva Papuashvili: "Restoring Diplomatic Relations with Russia Depends on Territorial Withdrawal"

On April 14, Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, stated that restoring diplomatic relations with Russia is possible only if Russia withdraws from Georgia’s occupied territories.
During his remarks, Papuashvili emphasized that the sole obstacle to resuming relations is Russia’s occupation of Georgian territories. He said, "Russia can easily remove this obstacle. As soon as we see steps in this direction, restoring relations will become possible." He added that the responsibility lies entirely with Russia, stating, "The means to remove this barrier is in Russia’s hands, and this is what we expect."
